A great summary of the 10 dogmas in modern science:
1 – Nature is mechanical or machine-like, and we are machines.
2 – Matter is unconscious. The whole universe is unconscious.
3 – The “laws of nature” are fixed, and they don’t change over time.
4 – The total amount of matter and energy is always the same.
5 – Nature is purposeless, and the evolutionary process is purposeless.
6 – The biological heredity is material.
7 – Memories are stored inside your brain as material traces.
8 – Your mind is inside your head. Your consciousness is only the activity of your brain.
9 – Psychic phenomenon like telepathy are impossible.
10 – Mechanistic medicine is the only kind that works.
This is the default world view among scientists, and it is the basis of our educational system.
